There's a lot of garbage down there. It's hard to fathom really. When it's averaged out, it works out to six tons of garbage per person a day. Figures aside, we needed something more dramatic to give those numbers some meaning. World Wildlife Fund agreed. In the end, we created a tidal wave comprised entirely of garbage. And considering the 14 trillion tons of garbage dumped into the ocean every year, this visual was hardly a stretch.
