“While visiting the island of Sumatra in Indonesia, I was determined to find and photograph some of the last remaining orangutans. Their environment is being encroached upon and destroyed for farming, palm oil and urban development. Eventually, I found this orangutan, whose soft expression felt almost human-like to me.”
