Mimi Haddon, photographer
"During a time when I was searching for my own studio, a wonderfully generous woman from my creative group gave me a key to the vacant home where her mother-in-law lived for over 50 years. I had the freedom to use the space as a studio for a couple of months. The 1920's construction had this mysterious and magical quality about it. There was a grand piano in the living room among boxes and forgotten furniture. Dolls, paintings, holiday ornaments still found shelter in the meticulously constructed built-ins. I managed to find the few corners of the home that were free of objects, but when I look at this image, I can vividly see the many life stories that occupied this space for so many years."
