Wired UK has a cutting-edge reputation. When the magazine asked design firm Sawdust to design typography that was “clever but readable," Sawdust came up with a typeface inspired by its previous work at Fast Company and PlayStation. Playful and progressive, the typeface aims to entertain the typical Wired reader. The final typography was drawn using brushes, then manipulated digitally. The design team referenced photography for light and shadows while redrawing the typeface on the computer.
