“Wild Ale & Barbera is a the result of the collaboration between Leonardo di Vincenzo of Birra del Borgo in Borgorose, Italy, who spent years of commitment to the art of beer fermentation; Fernando Pérez Castro of Hacienda La Lomita in Valle de Guadalupe, Mexico, and his obsessive care of the grape and the winemaking process; and Checo Gutiérrez of Cerveza Bocanegra in Monterrey, Mexico, with his passion for constant reinvention.

“The challenge was to create the identity and packaging design of a new product that had to communicate the many years of hard work, successes and hard lessons learned. It wasn’t just about another product, but about a new milestone that would forever mark Bocanegra’s brand and Checo Gutiérrez’s personal history.

“The feather honors the tool that Francisco González Bocanegra used when he wrote the Mexican national anthem. He is the spirit behind the brand. Every intersecting line that conforms to the illustration represents a key event in Cerveza Bocanegra brand’s story. Every point represents a challenge, a success or even an unforgettable obstacle—everything that made the brand what it is today. This feather represents the path he followed as well as the road ahead.”
