Twenty Years after Chernobyl. "With moss for hair, a doll's head rests in the snow outside an abandoned kindergarten in Pripyat, once a city of 50,000 people where Chernobyl power plant workers and their families lived. Radiation levels around Chernobyl have decreased to the point where tourists can now visit the plant and the surrounding areas and explore Pripyat, a modern-day Pompeii. This photograph was shot for a story on the twentieth anniversary of the worst nuclear disaster in history."
