"Tricia was shy and different, unconventionally beautiful. I was on the way to SFO, to fly home after a grueling project, and arrived at Suzanne's house in Burlingame for a cup of coffee and three rolls of film. I can only think that this is my favorite portrait to date. It all just came together. This is not the work of the conscious mind. Tricia no longer works at the nail salon where Suzanne found her. We have tried repeatedly to contact her to send a print. I just hope she sees this and calls."
