“For an article about the Port of Los Angeles and the police force that patrols it. I set out to create images that give a sense of the massive size of the port in order to illustrate how large of a job it is to patrol it. For this image, the best vantage point was from a bridge without a sidewalk, so my assistant drove very slowly across the bridge with the hazard lights on, and I shot out of the sunroof. The only interesting thing that happened was that we didn’t get arrested.”
