“I’ve worked for Playboy a number of times over the years, and I was honored to be one of nine artists chosen to illustrate essays in their 60th anniversary issue,” Plunkert says. “I illustrated the dark concept of social media as a prelude to genocide for Jaron Lanier’s essay ‘The Future of Evil’ by depicting the public willingly loading their own heads onto railway cars.”
