Duration: We—Axel Aubert, JB Grasset and Guillaume Nicollet—founded the studio in January 2017.
Location: Paris, France.
Education: Our master’s degrees are in the arts, design and computer science.
Career path: We met while working at French digital agency ultranoir, where we produced creative websites. We felt that this market was slowly disappearing, so we decided to move to a new territory—the virtual reality (VR) space, where everything has yet to be created.
Cultural influences: Art exhibits, games, innovative architecture and postdigital art.
Favorite projects: Our work for the adidas Deerupt shoe. We had total freedom to make brand assets, and we created a VR experience that is similar to an interactive art piece.
Work environment: Since we want to create the first art gallery dedicated to VR creation, we modeled our office to look like a boutique, where people can freely visit. They can test our experiences and see how they are built. Our culture is based on dialogue about arts, design and science.
Approach: We don’t see a lot of VR experiences for brands, but we think it will be a huge market. Brands will create experiences between games, arts and learning experiences. We believe that real-time VR experiences will be the future of media.
Aspirations: To be considered one of the top VR studios in the world. We also want to release our first in-house VR product this year, a VR game mixing futurism, art and fashion.
Philosophy: We have passion. We love to work with bold brands and people.
Fun fact: We just released a manifesto about VR, which has been developed using 5,000 different user tests conducted over the past three years.
