“I took the day to think of an idea for this Marie Claire 2 series and ended up walking around the garden of Austerlitz and the Natural History Museum. The stuffed chickens in the museum inspired me, but the museum refused to let me photograph them. Luckily, their refusal pushed me toward live creatures, as it’s their vivacity that really made the subject great. Stuffed animals would have been a real mistake. Chantal Guillemain helped find the perfect chickens.”
