Personal work. Permanent Vacation. “Both my mom and dad came to the United States as immigrants from Thailand, and I’m continually fascinated with the way they have adapted to the Florida landscape. From the way they dress to how they speak and what they eat, it’s been a fun exploration to see how the suburban Florida environment has shaped their identities. It’s important to me to give more visibility to the Asian experience in America; I also want to broaden our ideas of aging. My parents are very active at 79 and 73. Through my photography, I’d like to show the beauty, joy and adventure you can still have late in life.”
