Located in Killington, Vermont, this long-time East Coast resort is well-known for its fast, challenging runs. In the face of increasing competition from inside and outside the region, they commissioned New York City-based brand consultancy firm Sterling Brands to update the brand and make it more relevant to today’s skiers. The new logo, all about the energy and speed of the mountain, is built on a steep blue streak that narrows as it races from the apex to the base of a bold, white-on-black letter “K.” It was an interesting challenge to render and place the logos to best effect on the resort’s various buildings and lodges. And, of course, the painting had to be completed in the off-season, since that’s the only time the staff has time to paint.
