My Kama Sutra project started with a commission from Penguin Books to create a cover for its new edition of The Kama Sutra. I created the first seven letters for that cover, and a year later, I developed the entire alphabet for an exhibition at Somerset House in London. After the release of this project, I was approached to do all sorts of erotic-based commercial work, but always declined. It’s just something I wouldn’t be willing to compromise on.
