“In Scotland for Outside magazine on a story on the Munros, volcanic mountains over 3,000 feet. Though relatively small mountains, in Scotland the quest among the hardy is to climb all 46 in one year. Alana Goldstein, a world traveler of record, and I hunted down 6 portraits of climbers, scaled 3 Munros and drove over 2,800 miles in our journey to see as many as possible. In over two weeks, it more or less rained every day. We witnessed more clouds than you might wish for. I kinda like the fleeting moment. This picture was fast. The bus pulled up and I turned around. I guessed that they shopped together without impulse, strictly practical without regard to form."
