The Hudson’s Bay Company History Foundation, a charity sponsored by the oldest company in North America, recently launched a new TV spot to promote interest in Canadian history. Created by ad agency Red Urban, developed by interactive firm MediaMonks and directed by production company Untitled Films, the ad tells the story of John Rae, a doctor for Hudson’s Bay Company, who discovered Rae Strait, the final portion of the famous Northwest Passage sea route. Filmed in the severe Arctic climate the doctor explored, “The Country of Adventurers: Dr. John Rae” features narration by Canadian survivalist Les Stroud. The TV spot is the first in a series celebrating the stories of famous Canadian adventurers.
