Education: BFA in film and media, Georgia State University, Atlanta, Georgia.

Career path: I’ve always been obsessed with the camera, whether it was being in front of it or behind it. I love interacting with people, especially when it’s through the camera. That’s why I chose portraiture; it ultimately lets me connect with people.

Artistic influences: I’m inspired by people of color, body language and intimacy. I love being able to capture the soul and the heart of people. My artistic inspiration comes from photographers like Alasdair McLellan, Carrie Mae Weems, Irving Penn and Richard Avedon.

Favorite projects: I love working with my good friends Bryan Justin and Jaycina Almond. I’m proud of all the work I create with them. With Jaycina, I’m always able to create works that highlight motherhood, but also beauty and strength. Likewise, with Bryan, I am able to show the beauty and strength of Black men in a special way.

Work environment: It’s comfortable! I photograph at a studio in Midtown, and I’m always surrounded by brothers who push me creatively. It’s been essential to my growth as an artist.

Approach: My toning and use of subtle body language set me apart from other portrait photographers. I make sure every photograph that I create has intention and heart. I strive to develop a connection with whoever I’m shooting so the atmosphere is always at peace and free-flowing.

Aspirations: In five to ten years, I want to be creatively unstoppable. I want to be consistently working, whether it’s on campaigns, editorial, music or portrait gigs. I want to be able to touch every part of the photography industry and have my work leave a mark. The ultimate goal is to inspire and teach the children coming after me who are in love with photography as well. I want to earn respect.

Anything else? I am the biggest goofball. I can’t go a day without tripping or hitting something at least 1,000 times, and yet, I still have expensive photography equipment.
