Ann Willoughby had in mind some kind of small building for storage and retreat, to complement her modest farmhouse in Weston, Missouri. Together with el dorado architects, she created the Willoughby Design Barn. It respects the farm, the frame and the house. "Every year we use it for slightly different things, and every year the farm grows a little bit differently," says Willoughby. "Our one-of-a-kind copper barn is now a creative refuge for company rejuvenation and client entertainment as well as a venue for thought-provoking seminars and national conferences. The barn has hosted everything from heated debates on how to change the world through design to one frighteningly competitive game of tag."
