Duration: Just over three years.
Staff: Me and a talented pool of freelance assistants and producers.
Education: BFA from the Minneapolis College of Art and Design, and about four years assisting many exceptional photographers.
Cultural Influences: Chris Buck, Richard Misrach, Dan Winters, Chase Charvis, Alec Soth, Andy Goldsworthy, David Fincher, Ayn Rand, Paul Westerberg, Steve Jobs, Chuck Palahniuk, Damien Lindelof and Carlton Cuse, Laird Hamilton, good design, great movies.
Environment: I am based out of a great corner studio in the warehouse district of Minneapolis. Most of my work is on location wherever the job takes me.
Philosophy: Keep it simple, be prepared and work hard. Commercial photography is a collaborative process and you need to be open to ideas wherever they may come from. Along with listening to other people involved in the shoot, I always try to remind myself to step back and look for my own vision. When I think it’s covered, I always try and push it a little further.
