“For the Washington Post in celebration of Washington, DC’s 100th anniversary of the Cherry Blossom Festival. The cherry blossoms were especially challenging to draw. Although I cut and pasted sections of the leaves in order to save time (deadline!), it was important that the cherry blossoms didn’t just look like tiled wallpaper, but still retained some kind of natural, organic quality.”
