For the last ten years Pentagram London’s Angus Hyland and Cass Art have shaken-up the traditional look of art materials. With a completely different approach to selling and design, Cass Art recently launched its first product range of pads that exemplifies its mission to “fill this town with artists.” The design consolidates and clarifies the essential technical information in a concise way, allowing enough space for the uses of the pads to be illustrated through primal mark making. The nine cartridge paper pads are split between heavyweight (red) and regular (black) and herald the launch of the broad selection of papers (layout, marker, tracing, colored and sketchbooks) that will follow.
