This site was designed along with an interactive kiosk and exhibit, for the 150th anniversary of the American Institute of Architects. To choose the architectural works, the AIA conducted a poll among its members, and later included the general public, asking them to cite twenty of their favorite structures in fifteen predetermined categories. The 150 buildings, bridges, monuments and memorials on this site represent some of the best of America's architectural heritage.
• The main interaction paradigm is a panoramic, horizontal scrolling image gallery with the ability to call-up additional information as desired.
• Because the representation of architecture in its many forms doesn't lend itself to same-sized cropping, the images are presented in different sizes.
• Two new layers for Google Earth enable users to fly-through virtual, 3-D models of the nation's most popular landmarks and structures.
