For this cover, I felt like the hate and anger coming from the alt-right movement needed to be present, but also play both sides a bit by creating a strong female warrior. With political pieces, it’s sometimes hard to stay neutral, and I think the artist’s voice is important in illustration. In some cases, like this one, you still need to make a great image for the cover whether you like your warrior’s political views or not.”
